This design started off with much simpler pentagon-shaped bony-plates. However, I wanted to utilize the detail that the laser cutter enables one to use, and so I chose to instead image trace actual bony-plates from a fossil stegosaur. The tail is attached with zip ties so that it moves as one walks for added effect. The bony-plates are slotted into a long rectangle that is scored so that the spine piece conforms to the shape and movement of the spine.
